Witnesham Nursing Home is a beautiful Victorian house that has been tastefully modernised and now refurbished to accommodate 30 residents. This home for you with nursing care is located in the heart of Witnesham village on the northern outskirts of Ipswich. This delighhtful village overlooks the Fyn Valley and is surrounded by vast areas of farm land and open fields. Witnesham Nursing Home provides cosy and comfortable single rooms for absolute privacy and companion rooms which you share with another resident where you enjoy companionship and friendship while still adequately maintaining your privacy. Some rooms have en suite facility. Witnesham Nursing Home is fully refurbished to a high standard, but you can add items of your favourite furniture and other small cherished objects to personalise your home and retain the feel of your home. The home will consider favourably if you wish to bring your cat or similar pets. All rooms have television points and safety features such as smoke detectors and 24-hour nurse-call systems. Witnesham Nursing Home has comfortable and attractive living and dining areas and a large sun room / conservatory directly overlooking the gardens.
Meal times are important and we want them to be a sociable and enjoyable part of the day. Our experienced chefs provide a daily choice of menus which can be adapted to personal preference and dietary requirements. Our kitchen is never closed. Refreshments are provided throughout the day. Morning tea and biscuits, and afternoon tea are always popular with residents just as the main courses. Meals can be taken in the residents' rooms or in the many living and dining areas as well as in the garden on a nice day. The thought of an enjoyable meal, the sight of the well presented meal and the mouthwatering aroma will help boost residents' appetite which is essential for achieving optimum nutrition, good health as well as to maintain a sense of wellbeing.
At Witnesham Nursing Home, the home for you with nursing care, we not only want our residents to have their care needs met in a place of safety and comfort, but we also want them to have access to facilities that they have been accustomed to. General Practitioner: Most residents are registered with one particular General Practice and the doctor (almost always the same doctor) visits regularly, but any resident can continue with his / her doctor if preferred. Dentist: Can be arranged. Optician: Can be arranged. Physiotherapy: Can be arranged. Hair dresser: visits every week. Passenger Lift: Provides access to all floors. Landscaped gardens with sitting areas and pathways suitable for wheelchairs. Disabled and wheelchair access to all areas. Personal Laundry Service: Offered at no extra cost for machine washable clothes. The Village Pub, user friendly and well suited for frail wheelchair users, is only a hundred yards away and remains a source of delight for both residents and visitors alike. Here, they enjoy a drink and probably a meal in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
At Witnesham Nursing Home we want to stimulate and energise our residents. Our activities organiser arranges stimulating and interesting activities taking account of the residents' interests and ensures that there is always something enjoyable to do - everything from reminiscence to exercise classes and even gardening. Residents have plenty of opportunity to pursue their hobbies. Outside entertainers visit regularly. Trips to local places of interests are organised regularly. We try to involve family and friends of residents in as many of the activities as possible. The Friends of Witnesham Nursing Home, an active group comprising of some of the staff, relatives and members of the local community, organises numerous varied activities to enhance our resident's quality of life. Volunteers: Several approved volunteers visit the home on a regular basis. They interact with the residents, act often as their advocate and engage in various fulfilling activities.

So we keep rules and regulations to a minimum and take particular care to create safe and comfortable homely surroundings. We believe in striking a balance, between providing support when it is needed, and helping residents maintain their independence whilst we encourage each resident to adopt a full and active lifestyle wherever possible. Our standards of care are second to none. We employ highly trained qualified nurses and care staff to provide 24 hour professional support in accordance with the individual care plan, under the supervision of a dedicated nurse manager in a manner they would care for people they love and respect. This means that one can feel assured that every resident is looked after well based on their individual needs and preferences. Besides the medical practitioners other specialists such as, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, dietitians, chiropodists and opticians visit as and when necessary.
